Milwaukee Tool acquires Imperial Blades

Brookfield, USA-based Milwaukee Tool has acquired Imperial Blades, a manufacturer of blades for oscillating multi-tools. Founded in 2008, Sun Prairie-based Imperial Blades is the original inventor of the universal shank for use on oscillating multi-tools. The company has in recent years introduced innovations such as Storm Titanium coating and Carbide Extreme Blade.

Milwaukee Tool plans to keep Imperial Blades, which was founded in 2008, as its own brand. This major acquisition follows the 2014 purchase of Mukwonago-based Empire Level, which has also remained as its own brand.

With the acquisition, Brookfield-based Milwaukee Tool says it now has more than 3,600 employees across the US. The company recently announced an expansion at its Brookfield headquarters from 390,000 square feet to 504,000 square feet.
