Knipex has been awarded the German Sustainability Award 2019 as Germany’s Most Sustainable Medium-sized Company for the year. The subject of sustainability has played an important role throughout the 135-year history of Knipex, which is renowned for the development and production of high-quality pliers.
Establishing the energy cycle in 2009, was an early step in the brand’s direction of conceptual planning and action.
The German Sustainability Award 2019 caps off an interesting year for Knipex, after winning a rare double at the Eisen Award 2018 in March. In addition to the EISEN CSR Award for sustainability, the pliers specialist also received the prize for product innovation. This made Knipex the first company in the history of the EISEN awards to have won both prizes.
The German Sustainability Award was established in 2008 to encourage the acceptance of social and ecological responsibility and to identify role models in this area. The award is endorsed by the German Federal Government, local and business associations as well as numerous NGOs, among them UNESCO and UNICEF.
The 2019 German Sustainability Awards Ceremony took place on Friday, December 7th, 2018.
